INVITATION (Sandy)

As we prepare to celebrate communion, please gather something to drink and something to eat if you are gathered on Zoom, if you are in the sanctuary sanctuary, there are individual communion cups in the hall. Regardless of how you are joining us for worship today, when we get to the words of institution I invite you to raise your bread and cup as we raise ours. Our journeys have brought us here in this moment. Whether you come here as a skeptic seeking companionship or a seeker seeking deeper meaning or a believer wanting to connect more with the holy, you are welcome at this table. As we gather at this table, we connect with the holy and the human. And through this connection, we pour grace from the cup and find food for our souls. As we partake of these gifts of substance and quench our thirst. We honor creator and creation as we bless and share this holy meal. We celebrate the life and teachings of Jesus. As we receive the fruits of the Spirit, we celebrate the communion of all things. We join together on this journey as we travel and Spirit.

PRAYER (Sandy)

Let us lift our hearts in prayer. Holy One, walk with us as we journey through this amazing world you have created for us. Help us as we leave the comfortable and enter into the unknown. Here at this table, you come to us in the form of life, giving substance Your spirit guides us and supports us. Your love flows freely into our lives as we remember you by this simple act of communion Come to us as we eat and drink and help us remember. We are here to share your love, that by sharing, all may have the gift of grace Your love gives. Amen.

PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING (Brenda)

Thank you, Loving God, that we can eat and drink in the hope that one day none will know hurt or hunger or hopelessness. Thank you for the opportunity to be fed and to feed, to receive your Good News and to be bearers of your Good News for all people. Amen.
