INVITATION (Mark)

Friends as we prepare to celebrate communion. Those of you who are in Zoom, I encourage you to gather something to eat and something to drink. And if you are not already in gallery view where you can see an array of people. I recommend that you switch to gallery view by clicking the button in the upper left hand corner so that you can see everybody. And another suggestion for everyone. When Pastor Brenda leads us in the words of institution, I ask, invite you to raise your bread and your cup as she raises hers I recall in the Gospel of John where Jesus said, I am the bread of life. You who come shall not hunger you who believe shall never thirst together with all who hunger. For this spiritual food we come to this table to know the risen Christ in the bread and cup. This invitation is made to everyone, no matter where you are on your spiritual journey. You are welcome at Christ Table. Everyone can partake. There are no exceptions.

PRAYER (Mark)

Let us lift up our hearts in prayer.God of Resurrection and new life. Pour out your Holy Spirit on us and on these gifts of bread and juice. Bless these elements. Race our table with your presence. Reveal yourself to us in the breaking of the bread. Raises up as the body of Christ for the world breathed new life into us. Send forth burning with justice Peace and love.Amen.

WORDS OF INSTITUTION (Brenda)

PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING (Brenda)

Please join with me in giving God thanks. Great and Glorious God, we give you thanks for this feast, a foretaste of your reign of love and mercy, when all are fed and none are thirsty, where all are welcomed and none are naked, where all are healthy and none are imprisoned. May that day come soon! Give us courage to accept the costs and joys of discipleship that we may be your servants in service to the whole human family. Amen.
